CVA Launches Campaign Highlighting Representatives’ Opposition

to VA Accountability Act

Six-Figure Campaign Targets Representatives Kuster, Ruiz and Walz To Urge Them To Change Votes on Critical VA Legislation

Arlington, Va.Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) today launched a six-figure digital video, direct mail, and grassroots campaign that highlights Rep. Ann Kuster’s (NH-02), Rep. Raul Ruiz’s (CA-36), and Rep. Tim Walz’s (MN-01) opposition to VA Accountability Act (HR1994) – a bipartisan bill that would make it easier to fire bad VA employees – in the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and urges them to support the bill when it comes before the whole House.

This campaign follows a $100,000 national digital ad campaign that emphasized the need for the VA Accountability Act and encouraged Americans to contact their representatives to urge them to support the bill.

CVA CEO Pete Hegseth issued the following statement on the launch of the campaign:

“Representatives Annie Kuster, Raul Ruiz, and Tim Walz claim to be concerned about the lack of accountability and toxic culture at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) but failed to back up that rhetoric with real action. Instead of supporting the VA Accountability Act – commonsense, bipartisan legislation that bring increased accountability to the VA – they caved to pressure from Washington special interests and voted against it.

“Our veterans deserve more than lip service from Washington politicians and they deserve better than watered down legislation that does nothing to fix the deeply-entrenched problems at the Department of Veterans Affairs. CVA urges Reps. Kuster, Ruiz and Walz to reconsider their opposition to needed VA reforms.”
