CVA Names New Deputy Director

ARLINGTON, Va. ― Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) on Tuesday announced Herb Ford will become the organization’s new deputy director, working alongside John Vick, who was appointed executive director of the nation’s largest veteran-led grassroots advocacy organization at the start of the new year.

Ford, a veteran of the United States Army, has nearly 28 years of commissioned service, with 24 years on active duty as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate. He served in a variety of assignments both in the U.S. and overseas. Mr. Ford is the recipient of the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal among other decorations and badges and retired as a Colonel in 2012. He joined CVA in 2015 to continue his service.

For almost a decade, Ford has been an instrumental part of CVA’s team as the organization’s first and only general counsel, a role he retains while serving concurrently as deputy director. He has advised on many mission-critical decisions, offered strategic counsel, represented CVA at the White House, Capitol Hill, and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and attended scores of grassroots CVA events across the country since starting his tenure with the organization in November 2015.

Herb Ford had this to say about taking on his new role:

“I have seen the tremendous power and dedication of our grassroots army over the last ten years – what CVA has been able to accomplish in the policy arena is truly a testament to the passion of staff, volunteers, and patriotic activists across the country.

I’m excited to lean on my experience as part of our leadership team to continue to represent CVA, work with our incredible grassroots team, and help launch CVA’s brand refresh as we provide the veterans’ voice for freedom and prosperity for All Americans.”
