An Open Letter to Congress on its War Powers Obligations Regarding Iran
CVA recently sent an open letter to all members of Congress urging our elected representatives to fulfill their constitutional duty under the War Powers Resolution of 1973 regarding the ongoing military operations in Iran.
In the letter, CVA’s executive director, John Vick, says:
American servicemembers have the courage to put their lives on the line in defense of our nation when called to do so. Members of Congress should have the courage to vote on whether to ask our troops to make those sacrifices and to debate on whether doing so serves vital American national interests.
