CVA Statement on President Trump’s 28-Point Ukraine–Russia Peace Plan

ARLINGTON, Va.Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) today expressed support for the administration’s renewed diplomatic effort to end the war in Ukraine following President Trump’s release of a 28-point peace proposal.

CVA Executive Director John Vick issued the following statement:

“We applaud the administration’s commitment to pursuing a peace deal that can stop the bloodshed and give all sides a credible path out of this devastating conflict. President Trump’s proposal moves the discussion toward diplomacy that protects American interests, reduces the risk of great-power confrontation, and saves Ukrainian lives.

By closing the door on NATO expansion into Ukraine, keeping NATO forces out of the conflict zone, extending strategic arms-control measures, and securing the return of Ukrainian children, this framework offers meaningful steps toward stability for all parties. Any U.S. commitments must remain clearly defined and avoid new open-ended obligations, but if America can help advance peace without signing up for another indefinite military role, that is both responsible and admirable. A negotiated settlement that ends the killing and lowers long-term risks is a goal worth pursuing, and we encourage the administration to continue pressing for a durable and humane resolution.”
