Veterans defend economic freedom for all Americans

By Concerned Veterans for America

Veterans have always stood first to serve our nation. Now, many are stepping up again to defend America’s economic future.

Concerned Veterans for America recently gathered with dozens of key legislative influencers at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C., to spotlight its 2025 policy priorities. The event marked a major step in CVA’s plan to expand its advocacy in Washington and key states nationwide.

At the event, CVA’s new executive director, John Vick, discussed key policy priorities like securing America’s financial future. He also outlined CVA’s renewed commitment to elevating veterans to help strengthen America and contribute to a better future for all.

“CVA has always been a movement by veterans, for all Americans. Let’s show the country what veterans can do for America.”

And American strength starts with a strong economy.

Why? Because a strong economy is crucial to ensuring every American can live their American Dream.

With over 2 million veteran-led small businesses across the country, tax policy isn’t just an issue contained in the halls of our nation’s Capitol building — it’s deeply personal. These businesses are the heart of many communities . A sudden tax hike would be more than just harmful — it could be devastating.

Why now? The stakes are high

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 delivered substantial economic benefits. But key provisions are set to expire — and that could mean:

  • Millions of Americans will see their taxes rise sharply
  • Small businesses will struggle
  • The whole economy will suffer a devastating blow

The TCJA relieved American families. It lowered taxes across every income level. It also fueled economic momentum — real wages and salaries surged by an estimated $3.6 trillion, and the U.S. added more than 5 million jobs, strengthening households and businesses nationwide.

If these tax cuts for individuals go away in 2025, Americans will face higher taxes, more inflation, fewer jobs, and less opportunity.

CVA is making sure that doesn’t happen.

Grassroots power in action

From grassroots events in places like Virginia Beach with U.S. Rep. Jen Kiggans to the upcoming annual CVA Vets on the Hill gathering in June, CVA’s grassroots army is mobilizing veterans and supporters from across the country to meet with lawmakers and deliver a clear message:

  • Extend the 2017 tax cuts
  • Support sound foreign policy and strong national defense
  • Ensure veterans have access to timely, high-quality health care

Thanks to your support, CVA has become the nation’s largest and most effective grassroots veterans’ advocacy organization. For 13 years, you’ve helped elevate veteran voices and defend the freedoms that make the American Dream possible.

This isn’t just about taxes. It’s about protecting the future our veterans fought to preserve for all Americans.
