CVA Looks Forward to Holding Tester Accountable

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Tonight Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) announced that he will oppose the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, despite previously saying that Gorsuch deserves a “fair shake.”

Montanans have been outspokenly supportive of Neil Gorsuch and opposed to Chuck Schumer’s filibuster. The Billings Gazette editorial board recently wrote that a filibuster on Gorsuch’s confirmation would demonstrate a “dysfunctional political process that continues to value a tit-for-tat mindset while the voters see little get done.”

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“Because Tester is choosing to stand with Chuck Schumer instead of his constituents, Concerned Veterans for America looks forward to holding him accountable. Neil Gorsuch is unquestionably qualified, experienced, and committed to respecting the rule of law. We urge the rest of the Senate to act responsibly and confirm Gorsuch without delay on Friday.”

CVA is engaged in a unique and unprecedented grassroots effort to help confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court bench. The group has made over 315,000 calls to constituents across twelve targeted states asking them to contact their Senator and urge them to confirm Gorsuch without delay. The group has also launched web ads, three waves of direct mail, and is promoting a digital tool which allows constituents to contact their Senators directly via Facebook, Twitter, and email.

Most recently, CVA led a coalition of 56 major conservative groups – including Heritage Action, Judicial Crisis Network, and Americans for Tax Reform –  and sent a letter to the Senate in Gorsuch’s support.
