CVA Launches Third Wave of Pro-Gorsuch Direct Mail

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Ahead of the expected Senate floor vote on the Supreme Court nomination next week, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is dropping a third wave of pro-Gorsuch direct mail targeted at Senators Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Bob Casey (D-PA).

“Judge Neil Gorsuch will protect the freedoms you fought to defend. Don’t let Bill Nelson stand in the way,” the Florida mailers read.

CVA mailer targeting Senator Bill Nelson over Gorsuch’s confirmation.

Senator Nelson recently announced that he would join Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in filibustering Gorsuch’s confirmation, despite having supported Gorsuch in 2006 for his confirmation to the Tenth Circuit Court. Senator Casey also recently affirmed his commitment filibustering Judge Gorsuch.

CVA Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“Any Senator’s decision to stand with Chuck Schumer instead of their constituents will prove to be a bad one. Gorsuch is a qualified, experienced, and fair jurist – there is no reasonable excuse for obstructive behavior at this point. Americans deserve to see this vacancy filled as soon as possible and CVA activists will continue urging members of the Senate to do the right thing until the moment Gorsuch is confirmed to the bench.”

A new Huffington Post/YouGov poll shows Americans want Gorsuch confirmed by a 17-point margin.

CVA is engaged in a unique and unprecedented grassroots effort to help confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court bench. The group has made over 300,000 calls to constituents in twelve targeted states, asking them to contact their Senators in support of Gorsuch. The group has also launched web ads, two other waves of direct mail, and is promoting a digital tool which allows constituents to contact their Senators directly via Facebook, Twitter, and email.

Most recently, CVA led a coalition of 56 major conservative groups – including Heritage Action, Judicial Crisis Network, and Americans for Tax Reform –  and sent a letter to the Senate in Gorsuch’s support.
