CVA Hosting “My VA: An Awareness Town Hall” in Philadelphia June 1 to Discuss Ongoing Issues with VA

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, Va. — Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is coming to Philadelphia for “My VA: An Awareness Town Hall” next Wednesday, June 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Valley Forge Military Academy and College  (1001 Eagle Road Mellon Hall, Wayne, PA 19087).

Darin Selnick, executive director of CVA’s Fixing Veterans Health Care Taskforce and a senior veterans affairs advisor, Eve Allen, CVA’s Pennsylvania state director, and Peter Gaytan, CVA’s communications director, will join local veterans to talk about the critical issues facing Pennsylvania’s veterans, military families, and—by extension—all Americans.

Veterans make up a large constituency in the keystone state — an estimated 900,000, a large number of whom live in southeast Pennsylvania, and they deserve to have their voices heard, and CVA invites veterans to share their thoughts and concerns about the ongoing crisis at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Allen issued the following statement regarding the event:

It’s now been over two years since the national news broke of the scandal in Phoenix and still little has improved across the nation and in Philadelphia. Veterans deserve nothing less than to be treated with the highest standard of dignity and care by the VA. This town hall will give veterans and their families the chance to make their voices heard on the important issues of our day, issues which are of special importance to those who have worn the uniform and served our country.

This event is free and open to the public and press. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

All attendees are asked to register for the event here. Media can RSVP to CVA Communications Specialist Sarah Shriver at sshriver@cv4a.org.
