CVA Underscores Foreign Policy as Driving Factor in 2026 Midterm Election Results
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arlington, Va. – Last night the American people made a decisive choice about what they want to see from our nation’s leaders. With nearly 74% of voters citing the Iran War as a crucial or major factor in their vote, Americans clearly showed that sound foreign policy is a pressing priority and that voters’ desire to end the reckless war in Iran is particularly linked to ongoing economic consequences felt at home.
For CVA, this reinforces our longstanding position that more work must be done to course-correct our nation’s foreign policy decisions and reassess the United States’ strategy abroad. The choice to go to war does not lie with the President and should never be taken lightly, the American people recognize that.
We look forward to working with the next Congress to advance durable reforms that restore the constitutional balance of war powers, promote a more restrained foreign policy, and deliver greater economic prosperity for American families.
CVA is proud of the individuals from both parties who worked tirelessly over the last several months to educate their communities on key policy issues shaping this election cycle, as well as those who volunteered at polling places to support the election process. CVA will always champion and protect the right to vote and the civic duty of citizens to stay politically engaged. It’s imperative that Americans continue to make their voice heard and our elected leaders remain responsive to the will of the people.
