Fleeing Communism, Building a Business, and Fighting for the American Dream
Edrys Leyva is the kind of American story you don’t hear enough about ― but you should.
At just 12 years old, Edrys fled communist Cuba with his family. They came to the United States for the same reason millions have throughout history: to live free, work hard, and build a better life.
And that’s exactly what he did.
After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, Edrys went on to pursue another dream ― opening a dental practice in his community. He built that business from the ground up, creating jobs, serving families, and living out the promise of the American Dream.
But that dream didn’t last. Not because of failure or lack of effort ― but because of something far more frustrating: government overreach and bad economic policy.
Crushing regulations. A broken health care system. Bureaucratic red tape pushed by politicians more interested in control than common sense. These are the forces that brought down Edrys’s family business ― a business his family poured their life into.
And now, Washington is preparing to do it all over again.
More than a trillion dollars in new tax hikes are on the table ― tax hikes that would hit small businesses the hardest. People like Edrys, who did everything right, are once again being punished for daring to succeed.
That’s why we’re fighting for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act ― legislation that will protect small business owners, cut through red tape, block reckless tax hikes, and clear the path for prosperity.
Edrys didn’t quit. He now serves as our Grassroots Engagement Director in Florida ― because he understands what’s at stake, and he refuses to stay silent.
If you believe in protecting the American Dream ― not taxing it into oblivion ― it’s time to act.
Join us in urging Congress to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Together, we can shape a better American future.
