CVA Highlights National Security Focus Through Testimony in Ohio on Fiscal Responsibility and Energy Security

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) this week testified before the Ohio House Government Oversight Committee and House Energy Committee in support of reforms aimed at strengthening America’s national security, economic resilience, and long-term prosperity.

CVA Strategic Director in Ohio Adam Miller delivered proponent testimony on House Concurrent Resolutions 24 and 35, highlighting the need for responsible fiscal stewardship and domestic energy production as critical components of a strong and secure nation.

CVA’s Strategic Director in Ohio, Adam Miller, had this to say about the issue:

“Veterans understand that national security begins long before a crisis occurs. A strong nation requires fiscal responsibility, reliable domestic energy production, and policies that strengthen America’s sovereignty and economic resilience. These resolutions recognize that our security depends not only on military readiness, but on the long-term foundations that keep our nation strong.”

In testimony supporting H.C.R. 24, CVA highlighted the growing national debt as one of the greatest threats to America’s long-term security and prosperity. The organization warned that rising interest payments, unsustainable spending, and chronic fiscal mismanagement threaten economic growth and limit the nation’s ability to respond to future challenges.

CVA also urged support for H.C.R. 35, emphasizing that American energy security is national security. The organization noted that permitting delays and regulatory barriers increase costs for consumers, weaken grid reliability, and create unnecessary dependence on foreign energy sources. Streamlining energy infrastructure development would strengthen economic resilience while supporting America’s strategic interests.

In addition to its testimony, CVA supports H.C.R. 42 and other policies that reinforce American sovereignty, strengthen national security, and uphold the rule of law.

Miller added:

“Whether we’re addressing runaway debt, strengthening domestic energy production, or advancing policies that reinforce America’s security and sovereignty, the underlying principle is the same. America is strongest when we pursue practical reforms that increase security, improve accountability, and preserve the freedoms and opportunities that generations of veterans have fought to defend.”
