CVA Meets With Lawmakers on Capitol Hill

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Today, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) gathered on Capitol Hill for a press conference to discuss their legislative agenda for 2018. The group shared its vision for advancing key policy priorities, including bringing more health care choice to veterans through the VA, increasing accountability and transparency at the VA, and reforming defense spending.

The group was joined by Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) who praised the work the organization has done in fighting for increased health care options for veterans.

This week, CVA had members of its grassroots leadership team fly into Washington from around the country to meet with the Senators and Congressmen from their states in order to discuss CVA’s legislative agenda.

CVA Executive Director Dan Caldwell issued the following comment:

“We are optimistic about advancing positive reforms for veterans after our meetings on Capitol Hill this week. It is encouraging to see that so many members, like Rep. Jim Banks, recognize the need for a fundamental reform of the VA to ensure that our veterans are receiving the best care possible. Veterans chose to serve their country and we believe they should be able to choose their doctor with their VA benefits. We look forward to continuing to work with Congress to enact real change for the veterans who deserve it.”
