CVA Urges Veterans to Vote for Senators Rubio and Toomey

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is urging veterans and patriotic citizens in Florida and Pennsylvania to vote for Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) for re-election to the U.S. Senate. In a high six-figure investment, the group will utilize their grassroots infrastructures in Florida and Pennsylvania to drive people to get out and vote for Senators Rubio and Toomey. This is the first time in its history that CVA has expressly advocated for the election of specific candidates to public office.

CVA has over 500 committed volunteers and 20 staffers across Florida and Pennsylvania. The organization will use a strategic combination of phone calls, door knocks, and digital ads to contact voters and ask them to vote for Senators Rubio and Toomey on November 8th.

Concerned Veterans for America Vice President of Policy and Communications Dan Caldwell issued the following statement:

“It is more important than ever to ensure strong champions of VA reform like Senators Rubio and Toomey remain in the Senate. Both Senators have been advocates of substantially reforming the VA long before the problems there made national headlines. Without Rubio and Toomey in the United States Senate, it would become even more difficult to enact meaningful VA reforms like increasing accountability for bad VA employees and expanding health care freedom for veterans. Since 2012, CVA has been building robust grassroots infrastructures in Florida and Pennsylvania. We are well-positioned to help Rubio and Toomey across the finish line this November.”

Senators Rubio and Toomey have both lead the charge for meaningful reform at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which is needed more than ever by veterans who rely on the VA for quality and timely care. Senator Rubio introduced the VA Accountability Act of 2015 as well as the VA Accountability First and Appeals Modernization Act of 2016; both bills would make it easier to fire bad VA employees. Senator Pat Toomey co-sponsored the VA Accountability Act and introduced legislation to help unemployed veterans find jobs.
