CVA Supports President Trump’s New Judicial Nominees

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Tonight the Trump administration released the names of five new judicial nominees to fill federal appeals court positions in Michigan, Alabama, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Indiana. Joan Larsen, Kevin Newsom, John Bush, David Stras, and Amy Barrett are now poised to fill positions on the 6th, 7th, 8th and 11th Circuit Courts.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“We’re confident that President Trump has selected fair, thoughtful, and qualified jurists who will faithfully honor the rule of law and won’t seek to advance any political agenda. This Senate now has a historic opportunity to reunite Americans with the justice guaranteed to them by the Constitution veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We support President Trump’s new appeals court nominees and will mobilize our grassroots army as needed to help realign the courts around the rule of law.”

CVA engaged in an unprecedented grassroots campaign in support of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. The group made over 350,000 calls to constituents, dropped four waves of direct mail and ran digital ads in twelve targeted states urging citizens to contact their Senators in support of Gorsuch’s confirmation. CVA also led a coalition of over 55 major conservative organizations, together sending the Senate a letter urging them to vote yes.

CVA’s efforts yielded success in West Virginia, North Dakota and Indiana, where Senators Joe Manchin, Heidi Heitkamp and Joe Donnelly voted in favor of confirming Gorsuch.
