CVA statement on President Trump’s decision to remove U.S. Troops from Syria

By Concerned Veterans for America

ARLINGTON, Va.—Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director, Dan Caldwell, released the following statement in support of President Trump’s decision to remove U.S. troops from Syria:

“Protection of our core national interests no longer requires a military presence in Syria, and we commend President Trump’s decision to withdraw our troops from the country. While our service members have performed admirably and bravely, keeping our troops in Syria will not guarantee a better outcome in the civil war, and a continued U.S. presence in the country will only distract from more pressing national security priorities.”

Caldwell recently penned an op-ed with Will Ruger, Vice President of Research and the Charles Koch Institute, charting a path forward for better foreign policy. You can read it here.
