Raleigh, NC – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) North Carolina is launching a new effort to help pass a bill which would ease occupational licensing burdens on military families in the state.
Starting this week, dozens of CVA staffers and volunteers will begin urging policymakers to advance this critical reform. The group will also host regular phone banks.
If passed, the measure would allow military members and their spouses to practice their professions under licensure from another state while transitioning to the requirements of the licensing boards of North Carolina.
Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) North Carolina Coalitions Director John Byrnes issued the following statement:
“Soldiers and their families, who make the ultimate sacrifice for this country, should not be subject to unnecessary regulations as they move between states during active duty. The government should make it as easy as possible for our men and women in uniform to transition back into civilian life and provide for their families. This bill is something patriotic North Carolinians on both sides of the aisle should readily support, and we are pleased that this measure has already received bipartisan support. Concerned Veterans for America supports easing burdens and expanding opportunity for the military community, and we will continue urging our state legislature to support this bill until it passes.”
