CVA Praises Reps. Gaetz, Massie, and Rooney for Standing Up for the Constitution

ARLINGTON, Va.—Following the recent U.S. House of Representative vote to restrict the use of offensive military force against Iran, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Nate Anderson released the following statement: :

“We were pleased to see a bipartisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives vote to re-assert its constitutionally-mandated role in matters of war and peace. We also applaud Representatives Gaetz, Massie, and Rooney for crossing the aisle to vote for this important resolution.”

Anderson continued:

“Representatives Gaetz and Massie especially have been consistent advocates for a more robust congressional role in shaping a foreign policy that puts American interests first. We look forward to continue working with them both to end our endless wars and to implement a foreign policy that only puts troops in harm’s way when there is a direct threat to our safety and national interest.”

BACKGROUND:

Polling commissioned by CVA earlier this year showed that 60 percent of veterans and military families would support the President if he withdrew American forces from Afghanistan.

Additional CVA/VoteVets polling shows solid majorities of voters oppose the U.S. conducting an attack on Iran.

Earlier this year, CVA launched a digital ad campaign thanking lawmakers for standing against endless war, praising lawmakers for voting to ensure proper Congressional input before any offensive military force against Iran.
