CVA Florida Applauds House Vote to Kill Wasteful Spending Programs

By Concerned Veterans for America

Tallahassee, FL – Today the Florida House of Representatives voted to pass H.B. 7005 in an overwhelming vote of 87-28. If passed by the state Senate, the legislation will eliminate a number of major corporate welfare programs, including Enterprise Florida’s public-private partnership that hands out taxpayer funds to a few, large benefiting companies at the expense of many hardworking Floridians.

Concerned Veterans for America Coalitions Director Diego Echeverri issued the following statement:

“Concerned Veterans for America applauds members of the Florida House for doing the right thing on behalf of the millions of hardworking Floridians and taxpayers who have been forced to pay their tax dollars into a system that unfairly benefits large corporations. Many veterans are entrepreneurs and small business owners – they are key drivers of our state economy, not powerful special interests. The House has sent a clear message that this cronyism will not continue and now it’s up to the Senate to get this bill to Governor Scott’s desk without delay. It’s time put the people of Florida first.”
