Vegas, NV – Today Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is announcing a six-figure grassroots investment to expressly advocate for the election of Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV), a strong VA reform advocate, to the U.S. Senate. This is the first time the organization has asked Nevada veterans, military families, and patriotic citizens to vote for a specific candidate in the state.
Starting today, CVA will utilize a strategic combination of phone calls, door knocking, and digital ads to ask Nevadans to get out and vote for Rep. Heck. CVA’s ground game is the organization’s biggest comparative advantage, and the Nevada chapter is no exception. CVA has been building up a grassroots army in Nevada since 2013, and currently has roughly 350 committed volunteers and six full- and part-time staffers. This grassroots team will knock on over 20,000 doors and make over 150,000 phone calls on behalf of Rep. Heck by November 8th.
Rep. Heck, a brigadier general still serving in the Army Reserves, is a strong advocate for reforming the VA. Heck co-sponsored the Veteran-Centered Access To Coordinated Health Care Act. He has also supported the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act and the VA Accountability Act (which CVA strongly supports).
CVA Vice President of Policy and Communications Dan Caldwell issued the following statement:

Heck has served for 24 years in the U.S. Army Reserves, including a tour to Iraq – he understands veterans’ needs. Heck has proven that he will do whatever it takes to ensure our veterans receive the quality care and benefits they earned. Now, we are doing what we can to ensure Joe Heck gets elected to U.S. Senate this November.”
This announcement comes on the heels of CVA’s investment in Florida and Pennsylvania to expressly advocate for Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA), who are also champions of VA reform.
