Reforming Veterans Affairs: Preserving Promises to Nevada’s Veterans Moderated by KDWN’S Alan Stock “The Voice of Common Sense”

Las Vegas, NV – On Thursday, March 20, 2014 Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) will host Reforming Veterans Affairs: Preserving Promises to Nevada’s Veterans.  This event will outline the ways veterans—and all Americans—can contribute to ‘defending freedom’ by advancing reform.

DATE:                       Thursday, March 20, 2014 TIME:                        6:00 – 7:30 p.m. PDT (registration begins at 5:30 p.m.) LOCATION:               South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, Las Vegas, Nevada In Nevada, at the VA Reno Regional Benefit Office, roughly 6,396 veterans are awaiting for their Veterans Affairs disability compensation claims, with 66.5 percent backlogged for more than 125 days. It also takes an average of 392 days to complete the claim. Nationally, this number is even more staggering with 660,580 veterans waiting and 57.2 percent backlogged 125 days. Veterans’ waiting in line for claims—sometimes for years—is utterly unacceptable. Panelists will include Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America, and Darin Selnick, Military Advisor to Concerned Veterans for America and former assistant to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Note: Additional panelists to be named very soon. This event, sponsored by CVA’s Nevada chapter, is the first in our 2014 policy state series entitled Defend & Reform: Defending Freedom by Advancing Reform. Registration is free and dinner will be served. To RSVP visit HERE.

For more information or to interview Pete Hegseth, CEO of CVA, please contact Kate Pomeroy at 703-638-3927 or via e-mail at kpomeroy@cv4a.org.
