Arlington, VA – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.
Senator Tester (D-MT) recently said that Judge Gorsuch deserves a “fair shake,” but has failed to express support for the nominee.
Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:
“Members of the Senate must focus on Judge Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench and avoid political theatre. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator Tester to do right by Montanans and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing in upcoming weeks.”
CVA has made tens of thousands of calls to Montana constituents asking them to contact Senator Tester and urge him to confirm Gorsuch without delay. CVA also recently launched a targeted web ad and direct mail campaign in support of Gorsuch.
The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
