CVA Urges Stabenow to Do Right by Michiganders During Gorsuch Hearing

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.

Senator Stabenow (D-MI) supported Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Tenth Circuit Court in 2006, but now says she has “deep concerns” about him. Groups on both sides of the aisle are urging Stabenow to support Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court bench.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“Members of the Senate must focus on Judge Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench and avoid political theatre. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator Stabenow to do right by Michiganders and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing in upcoming weeks.”

CVA has made thousands of calls to Michigan constituents asking them to contact Senator Stabenow and urge her to confirm Gorsuch without delay. The group is also promoting a digital tool which allows Michiganders to directly contact Senator Stabenow’s office via email and social media.

The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
