CVA Urges Nelson to Do Right by Floridians During Gorsuch Hearing

By Concerned Veterans for America

Tallahassee, FL – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.

Despite having supported Judge Neil Gorsuch during his 2006 confirmation to the Tenth Circuit Court, Senator Nelson (D-FL) has failed to express support for Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Florida coalitions director Diego Echeverri issued the following statement:

“Members of the Senate must avoid turning this important process into a miscalculated political spectacle and instead focus on Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator Nelson to do right by Floridians and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing in upcoming weeks.”

CVA has made nearly 35,000 calls to Florida constituents asking them to contact Senator Nelson and urge him to confirm Gorsuch without delay. CVA also recently launched a direct mail campaign in support of Gorsuch.

The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
