CVA Urges McCaskill to Do Right by Missourians During Gorsuch Hearing

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.

Senator McCaskill (D-MO) has acknowledged the need for an up-or-down vote in the past, but has not expressed support for Gorsuch. She recently said, “I’m not talking about the Supreme Court nominee at all, in any way. I just don’t think it’s a good idea.” McCaskill is up for re-election in 2018.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“Members of the Senate must focus on Judge Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench and avoid political theatre. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator McCaskill to do right by Missourians and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing in upcoming weeks.”

CVA has made over 30,000 calls to Missouri constituents asking them to contact Senator McCaskill and urge her to confirm Gorsuch without delay. CVA also recently launched a targeted web ad and direct mail campaign in support of Gorsuch.

The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
