CVA Urges Bennet to do Right by Coloradans During Gorsuch Hearing

By Concerned Veterans for America

Denver, CO – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.

Despite continued and growing pressure from his constituents, Senator Bennet (D-CO) has failed to express support for Judge Gorsuch, a Colorado native. Bennet is up for re-election in 2022.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) field director Frank Crocker issued the following statement:

“Members of the Senate must avoid turning this important process into a miscalculated political spectacle and instead focus on Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator Bennet to do right by Coloradans and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing in upcoming weeks.”

A Colorado Gazette editorial recently wrote, “To vote against Gorsuch, Bennet would favor his party over someone who clearly ranks among the top-qualified nominees in the court’s history.”

CVA has made over 85,000 calls to Colorado constituents asking them to contact Senator Bennet and urge him to confirm Gorsuch without delay. CVA also recently launched a targeted web ad and a direct mail campaign in support of Gorsuch.

The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
