CVA Urges Baldwin to Do Right by Wisconsinites During Gorsuch Hearing

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Today begins Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch’s hearing before the U.S. Senate.

Senator Baldwin (D-WI) is publicly opposed to Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court and has said that she would not provide a vote to overcome a possible filibuster.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“Members of the Senate must focus on Judge Gorsuch’s qualifications to serve on the bench and avoid political theatre. Gorsuch’s unparalleled experience and principled approach to interpreting the rule of law proves he will respect the Constitution that so many Americans veterans fought and sacrificed to defend. We urge Senator Baldwin to do right by Wisconsinites and help drive a thorough, clean, and expedited confirmation hearing.”

CVA has made tens of thousands of calls to Wisconsin constituents asking them to contact Senator Baldwin and urge her to confirm Gorsuch without delay. The group is also promoting a digital tool which allows Wisconsinites to directly contact Senator Baldwin’s office via email and social media.

The American Bar Association has given Judge Neil Gorsuch its highest rating, unanimously declaring him “well-qualified.”
