MEDIA ADVISORY: CVA to Testify Before House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs on H.R. 4031, the “Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act of 2014”
Arlington, VA – Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), has been invited by the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs to testify Tuesday, March 25, 2014, on behalf of CVA in support of H.R.4031, a bill that would bring long-overdue accountability to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by empowering the VA Secretary to fire under performing managers. This bipartisan bill was introduced by Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.) in the House and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) in the Senate, and currently has 41 House co-sponsors.
“This legislation will strengthen VA leadership’s ability to address systemic weakness in department managers in a timely and efficient manner, and in doing so forge a culture of accountability rather than more bureaucratic malaise,” said Hegseth. “I applaud the Committee for holding this hearing and for their ongoing attempts to bring long-overdue accountability to VA.”
