Arlington, VA — Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently introduced the VA Information Technology Restructuring Act, a bill intended to modernize the information technology (IT) systems at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The bill will create a Chief Information Officer (CIO) position within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to help streamline the upgrading, acquisition, and operation of IT systems in the department.
Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Policy Director Dan Caldwell issued the following statement:

Senator Cruz’s new bill will help the VA make better tech decisions under new leadership dedicated solely to improving the department’s IT.
