CVA Statement on Chairman Miller Announcing Retirement From Congress

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, Va.Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Press Secretary John Cooper released the following statement regarding House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller’s announcement that he will not seek reelection:

“Concerned Veterans for America salutes Chairman Miller’s service to the people of Florida’s First District and to veterans across the country. Under his leadership, Congress acted on behalf of veterans to address crises of accountability and access to care at the VA, and passed legislation critical to returning the VA to its mission — serving veterans. Though there is much still to do in pursuit of this goal, Chairman Miller’s efforts were vital in advancing much-needed reforms.

“We encourage Speaker Ryan to thoughtfully consider the next House Veterans’ Affairs Committee chairman, and hope he chooses someone with the courage and leadership that Chairman Miller has always displayed.”
