CVA Releases Second Installment of “Leading From Behind Case Study Series”
Second Video Focuses on the Failure of the Obama’s Administration’s Iraq Policy

Arlington, Va. – Today, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), as part of its Strength and Security Project, released the second installment of its Leading From Behind Case Study Series, which focuses on the failure of President Obama’s Iraq strategy. The video documents the history of America’s involvement in Iraq following the troop surge in 2007 and demonstrates why Iraq today is in complete chaos with ISIS controlling large swaths of the country – even though the group was nearly destroyed when Obama took office in 2009.

“Unfortunately, President Obama’s Iraq strategy has been driven more by the desire to keep campaign promises to his political base than the actual security and political situation in Iraq,” said Pete Hegseth, CEO of CVA. “By allowing politics to drive military strategy, the Obama Administration has caused hard-won military and political gains in Iraq to be reversed which has increased instability not just in Iraq – but across the Middle East as well.”

This installment of the Leading from Behind Case Study Series follows the first video of the series, which focused on how a lack of a clear strategy in Libya during that country’s civil war has driven that country further into chaos and emboldened radical Islamists. CVA will release further videos as part of this case study series throughout the year with the goal of educating Americans on how our current lack of a clear and concise national security strategy makes the United States weaker, in addition to drawing out lessons from recent foreign policy failures that can be used to craft a better national security strategy.
