CVA on extending ACA subsidies: ‘Ignores the real issue at the taxpayers’ expense’
ARLINGTON, Va.―Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) on Wednesday responded to the introduction of a bill in the Senate to extend ACA subsidies for an additional three years. The bill would put the American taxpayer on the hook for billions more of their hard-earned dollars without addressing the underlying issue of health care costs or the systemic failures of government-run health care.
CVA executive director John Vick said the following about this misguided bill:
“Extending these ACA subsidies for another three years doesn’t solve the problems Americans face in our health care system. Instead, it papers them over with more taxpayer dollars, fewer choices, and continued escalation of costs. Veterans know better than most what it looks like when Washington promises health care but delivers bureaucracy, delays, and little to no accountability. We’ve lived the consequences of government-run care, and we’ve seen how it fails taxpayers, veterans, and communities alike. For America to move forward, We urge Senators to vote NO on this or any bill that would extend ACA Covid credits and focus instead on real reforms that put patients first, expand options, and make care genuinely affordable for every family.”
