CVA Made Historic Voter Contact on Behalf of Rubio

By Concerned Veterans for America

Orlando, FL – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) led a historic grassroots effort in Florida on behalf of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) this election cycle. Rubio was re-elected into office last night.

CVA made a significant investment to turn out veterans, military families, and patriotic Americans to vote for Marco Rubio on 11/8. This was an unprecedented level of express advocacy activity for the organization in the Sunshine State.

CVA’s efforts included:

  • Over 300,000 phone calls
  • Roughly 50,000 door knocks
  • Targeted digital ads
  • 14 staffers, including a state director
  • Over 100 committed volunteers

CVA supported Sen. Rubio due to his strong advocacy for veterans and military families. Rubio was a champion for reform at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) before the national VA scandal broke and became public knowledge. He spearheaded VA accountability efforts with his introduction of the VA Management Accountability Act of 2014 and the VA Accountability Act of 2015 –  two Senate bills which would make it easier to fire bad VA employees and would protect whistleblowers who speak up. Earlier this year, Rubio introduced the VA Accountability First and Appeals Modernization Act in the Senate. The legislation would make it easier to fire bad VA employees and would protect whistleblowers who speak up. It would also limit bonuses for VA officials.

Sen. Rubio is a leader the veteran community can truly count on, and CVA looks forward to continue working with him on ways to reform the broken VA.
