CVA Launches “We Didn’t Fight For This” Video Series As Part of GOTVets Initiative

Arlington, Va. — Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) today announced the launch of the “We Didn’t Fight For This” videos series featuring veterans talking about issues that matter to them, and discussing the power of veterans taking action. The videos are an extension of CVA’s Get Out The Veteran (GOTVets) nationwide get-out-the-vote initiative that also includes direct mail, digital advertising, and grassroots activism in veteran and active-duty, military-heavy states.

The first two videos feature a veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima discussing the swap of Bowe Bergdahl for five senior Taliban leaders, and a survivor of the Bataan Death March talking about the failures at the VA. “We Didn’t Fight For This” highlights veterans’ views that America is going down the wrong path and that it is up to veterans, military families, and active duty military members to exercise their right to vote to fix the problem.

“The America these heroes fought for is coming off the rails and – through these videos – they are sounding the alarm to their fellow veterans that it is time to mobilize,” said Pete Hegseth, CEO of CVA. “Our ‘We Didn’t Fight For This’ series is designed to inspire and motivate veterans and military families to stand and be counted at the ballot box to defend the uniquely American ideals they sacrificed so much for. Veterans are a powerful force in this country, and through our GOTVets initiative, CVA continues to find ways to empower them to be heard on the issues they care about. One of the most fundamental ways to challenge the status quo and defend freedom is by voting.”
