CVA IS ENCOURAGED BY HOUSE BUDGET COMMITTEE AHEAD OF TODAY’S BUDGET MARKUP

By Concerned Veterans for America

ARLINGTON, Va.Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) released a statement ahead of today’s House Budget Committee markup to provide for reconciliation of the 2025 fiscal budget.

CVA Executive Director John Vick commented:

“Last November, American voters sent a very clear message to Washington, D.C.: End reckless spending and extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts in their entirety.

With the House Budget Committee poised to markup Budget Reconciliation legislation, CVA is encouraged by reports that elected leaders are listening to their constituents and ending wasteful green energy handouts. This is a critical component to extending the Trump tax cuts.

As veterans, we fought for American freedom abroad and we’re continuing to fight for a freer and more secure America here at home. We know that a strong economy is crucial to our nation’s long-term prosperity and security. After years of higher prices and higher mortgage rates, American families cannot afford another tax hike. Securing a pro-growth tax code places the American Dream within reach of more families and protects our country’s long-term strength.

Wasteful spending, fueled by Biden-era cronyist giveaways, will set our country back. Continuing the fever dream known as the ‘Green New Deal’ adds to our deficit and raises the cost of living through inflation and higher energy costs.

CVA will continue to hold Congress accountable to ensure that the final legislation delivers on the promise of long-term economic growth and prosperity for all Americans.”
