CVA Applauds House Passage of Rescissions Package

ARLINGTON, Va. ― Today, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), the nation’s largest veteran-led grassroots advocacy organization, issued the following statement commending House leaders for voting to pass the White House’s rescissions package, advancing the bill to save billions from the federal budget.

John Vick, CVA’s Executive Director, had the following to say about the rescissions package:

“Today’s final passage of the rescissions package was a critical step towards reclaiming unnecessary government spending. CVA is encouraging President Trump to immediately sign the rescissions package. We further encourage the president and Congress to leverage this momentum by with follow- on rescissions packages along with comprehensive reform of the broken federal budget process. America’s taxpayers have endured decades of mounting overspending to wasteful, unaccountable bureaucracies. The time is long overdue for the federal government to begin practicing fiscal discipline, end deficit spending, and tackle the $37 trillion national debt. Deficit and debt hinder economic growth and threaten the foundations of our security.

America’s veterans have long fought and served to keep our nation both safe and prosperous. We’ve called on this Congress to secure America’s financial future. We are grateful that they have stepped up and we urge the president to sign this bill without hesitation.”
