CVA Applauds Confirmation of John Bush to the 6th Circuit Court

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington, VA – Today the Senate voted to approve John Bush, one of President Trump’s nominees for the lower courts. Bush will now serve a lifetime seat on the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a graduate of Harvard Law and serves as the head of his local Federalist Society chapter, a conservative legal group.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Executive Director Mark Lucas issued the following statement:

“We applaud Congress for confirming John Bush to the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. We believe that he will carry out his role with integrity and is fully qualified to uphold the rule of law.

“With over one hundred lower court seats still unfilled, Congress still has a tremendous opportunity to help President Trump secure judges who will respect the Constitution and protect individual liberty. Our activists remain engaged and ready to mobilize their efforts to support these nominees as needed.”

While the Supreme Court only hears around 80 cases a year, lower courts consider over 360,000 cases. There are currently over 120 vacancies to fill on the lower courts.

When President Trump nominated Justice Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, CVA’s base of veterans, military families, and citizen activists made over 350,000 emails and phone calls talking to Americans about Justice Gorsuch and urging them to contact their senators in his support. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), and Joe Donnelly (D-IN) voted to confirm Justice Gorsuch after being targeted by CVA activists.
