Arlington, Va. – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) today announced that Cody McGregor has joined the organization as Texas State Director. A Texan veteran, McGregor is the former campaign manager and senior aide to Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples.
A leading national veterans advocacy organization with local chapters around the country, CVA advocates for policies that preserve the freedom and prosperity our veterans fought so hard to defend. Texas is the latest addition to CVA’s roster of states where state and local team leaders activate local veterans, military families, and patriotic Americans who want to get involved in the fight to defend freedom here on the home front.
“We’re thrilled to have Cody on board with us in Texas to help identify, recruit and mobilize Texan veterans who are troubled about the direction of the country and want to do something about it,” said Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America. “Concerned Texan veterans can now stand up and be counted with CVA in the fight to restore and preserve freedom and prosperity for generations of Americans to come. We look forward to growing our veterans grassroots ranks under Cody’s leadership.”
“I’m thrilled to join forces with CVA and build a coalition in Texas made up of the brave men and women and their families who have served our country,” said McGregor. “As someone who has worn the uniform in times of combat, I understand firsthand the power that a well-organized force of veterans can wield. Veterans, service members and their families have fought for and deserve an efficient and accountable system that meets their needs, and to be represented by elected officials that do what they say and say what they mean. I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow Texan veterans to defend the principles that have made our country the greatest nation in the world.”
McGregor enlisted in the United States Army directly out of high school. Upon graduation from Basic Training and U.S. Army Airborne School, he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and then deployed to Egypt. Shortly thereafter, McGregor ascended to the rank of sergeant and became a sniper within a scout reconnaissance platoon. Following the 9/11 attacks on our country, McGregor’s unit was deployed to Afghanistan. There, McGregor continued his service as a sniper and squad leader, providing strategic support in dozens of complex missions.
