Arlington, Va. – Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is hosting a “Fixing Veterans Health Care Summit” in Colorado Springs Tuesday, March 8, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Stargazers Theater.
In 2014, CVA partnered with a bipartisan group of experts, policymakers and veterans to launch the “Fixing Veterans Health Care Taskforce.” The ultimate goal of the Taskforce was to propose solutions that will improve the well-being of veterans who rely on the VA for their health care by giving them more choice, flexibility and speedier access to medical care. The mission continues as CVA hosts this event to present and discuss VA reform solutions in Colorado Springs. The event will begin with a cocktail hour, followed by a distinguished panel discussion with U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) and Darin Selnick, senior veterans affairs advisor for CVA. “Nearly two years after the Phoenix VA waitlist manipulation scandal, veterans are still suffering. The 82,000 veterans of El Paso County deserve quality health care in a timely manner, not more of the same waitlist tricks and gimmicks from the VA. We need systemic change at the VA and this summit will serve as a forum to hear directly from lawmakers and experts about how to bring about real change at the VA,” said CVA Colorado State Director Frank Crocker.
