Concerned Veterans for America’s Defend Freedom Tour is Coming to Pittsburgh Saturday, August 20

By Concerned Veterans for America

Arlington Va. – Concerned Veterans for America’s Defend Freedom Tour is coming to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the last tour stop of 2016 on Saturday, August 20, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Heinz History Center.

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) hosts the 2016 Defend Freedom Tour with the mission to deliver a simple message to veterans, military families, and all patriotic Americans – honor service, defend freedom, and, most importantly, take action to save our country.

It’s never been more apparent that the government is failing not only our veterans and military families in the Keystone state – but all Americans. A crushing national debt threatens the strength and security of the United States in the near future – and worse, Congress and the current administration have shown almost no willingness to fix it.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, the nation’s second largest federal agency, is still failing our veterans over two years after it was revealed that veterans died on secret wait lists across the country. And just recently, VA Secretary Robert McDonald compared veterans’ wait times for appointments to waiting in line for rides at Disney theme parks—proving just how out of touch the secretary is with the struggles many veterans deal with while waiting for care at the VA.

Meanwhile, the Department of Defense is unable to properly equip our troops in the field, many of whom are still serving in combat zones, due to inefficiencies and corruption within the DoD’s acquisitions processes. Clearly, based on these important issues, veterans need to make their voices heard in this critical election year – and CVA has a plan to do just that.

“Concerned Veterans for America believes veterans and American patriots have the ability to change the course of our country, now more than ever. Our 2016 Defend Freedom Tour, our largest events series and the lynchpin in our historic movement, is an opportunity for veterans,” said CVA’s Vice President of Policy and Communications Dan Caldwell.

“These events give veterans and patriots across the country the chance to inspire and be inspired, and better empower them to share their passion for freedom and love for this country with their communities- all with the goal of advancing pro-freedom policies that will benefit all Americans.”
