Tyler Koteskey is the Policy Director at Concerned Veterans for America. His research interests include improving the delivery of veterans’ health care choices and operationalizing U.S. strategy changes through more sustainable defense budgeting and force planning. Tyler is the author of CVA’s Realism in Practice report on aligning ends and means in U.S. foreign policy. Tyler was also a prior Marcellus Policy Fellow with the John Quincy Adams Society, writing on how naval spending priorities can better facilitate a grand strategy of offshore balancing. Before joining CVA, Tyler was a Policy Analyst at Americans for Prosperity and the Reason Foundation.

Tyler has contributed analysis to War on the Rocks, Newsweek, The Hill, The Washington Examiner, Responsible Statecraft, and Reason, and has appeared on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal. He holds an MA in Security Studies from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a BA in History and Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles.
