Ron Aksel

Ron Aksel is a grassroots engagement director for Concerned Veterans for America in Virginia and a retired veteran of the United States Navy submarine force.

Ron joined the Navy in 1974 to defend freedom and the American way of life, just as his stepfather had years earlier in Korea. Ron served as an Electronics Technician, deployed on several submarines to various countries in Europe throughout his 20 year career and earned numerous medals while serving.

After leaving the Navy, Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Saint Leo University and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Troy State University. He transitioned into a career in the communications and data analysis fields with Verizon and other companies, and soon felt that he wanted to get involved in veterans issues, specifically support for those who were having problems with the Veterans Administration.

Ron joined CVA initially in 2013 with hopes to make effective, lasting changes in the veteran community. After a break from CVA and its supporting organizations in 2018 he was excited to come back to CVA in February of 2024.

He lives in Virginia Beach.
