Chris Hicks

Grassroots Engagement Director

Chris Hicks is a grassroots engagement director for Concerned Veterans for America in Virginia and a retired veteran of the United States Navy.

Chris joined the Navy in 1986 to serve his country and see the world. Chris served as an Electronics Technician, maintaining communications, RADAR, navigation, and computer  systems on numerous ships and several shore facilities during his 20-year career. He completed multiple deployments onboard ship and on land in support of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Restore Hope/UNISOM II, and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Once his Navy career ended, Chris went to work for a major defense contractor, followed by a Defense and Homeland Security subcontractor. During this time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics from East Coast Polytechnic Institute.

Chris began working as a volunteer for CVA in 2019, seeing CVA as a way to help other veterans get the care they were promised and need. In January 2024, he began to work full-time for CVA.

Chris lives in Midlothian with his wife. They have six children between them.
