Concerned Veterans for America Hosting Town Hall in Baton Rouge with Rep. Fleming August 9

By Concerned Veterans for America

(Arlington, VA) –  Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) will host a “Veterans and Military Town Hall” with Congressman John Fleming Tuesday, August 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The event is part of CVA’s “Defend and Reform” Policy Series.

Representative John Fleming, Lt. Colonel Allen West, and Dan Caldwell, CVA’s VP of Policy and Communications, will join local veterans to talk about the critical issues facing Louisiana’s veterans, military families, and—by extension—all Americans.

Veterans make up an important constituency in the Pelican State — an estimated 330,000 and counting, a large number of which live in and around the Capital City, and they deserve to have their voices heard. CVA Louisiana invites veterans to share their thoughts and concerns about the important issues facing the country, including the crisis as the Department of Veterans Affairs, a Department of Defense paralyzed by fraud and waste, and an out-of-control national debt that threatens the security of the nation for which we fought.

Caldwell issued the following statement regarding the event:

“This town hall will give veterans and their families the chance to make their voices heard on the important issues of our day, issues which are of special importance to those who have worn the uniform and served our country. They deserve to know what national policymakers will do to keep our country safe, and ensure those who have served are treated with the highest standard of dignity and care and restore fiscal responsibility in our nation’s capital.”

This event is free and open to the public and press. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.

All attendees are asked to register for the event here. Media can RSVP to CVA Regional Press Secretary Sarah Shriver at sshriver@cv4a.org.
