CONCERNED VETERANS FOR AMERICA ANNOUNCES VIRGINIA LEGISLATIVE ENDORSEMENTS

Grassroots veterans group supports Freitas and Ballard as advocates for veterans, military families, and all Virginians

ARLINGTON, Va.—Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) on Friday announced its support for two candidates running for election and re-election to the Virginia General Assembly.

Del. Nick Freitas, a three-term incumbent running for re-election to represent Virginia’s 30th district in the House of Delegates, has a proven track record of advocating for policies to improve the lives of veterans and military families across the Commonwealth.

Jason Ballard, vying to represent the 12th district in the Virginia House of Delegates is an Army veteran and currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, dedicates his life to serving his country. CVA praised Ballard for his commitment to championing reforms to improve the lives of Virginia’s military and veteran community – including his stance on access to veterans’ health care and improving affordable access for all Virginians.

CVA’s Coalitions Director in Virginia, Roseanne Rodriquez, had this to say regarding the two endorsements:

“Delegate Freitas is a proven champion on health care reforms benefiting veterans in Virginia and nationally. He is a strong advocate for our troops who have been fighting America’s ‘forever wars.’ We look forward to his continued service to his district and all Virginians when re-elected this November.

“Jason Ballard has first-hand experience with the shortcomings of the VA health care system and will be a strong advocate for innovative solutions like removing barriers to accessing telehealth so that veterans- and all Virginia families- have options for quality and timely care.”

“For their leadership and service to all in the Commonwealth, we urge Virginians to vote for Del. Freitas and Mr. Ballard this November.”
