Unemployment Among Veterans Remains Higher Than National Average

By Concerned Veterans for America

For Immediate Release: October 5, 2012 Media Contact: Kate Pomeroy | 703-638-3927 Arlington, VA – This morning the U.S. Department of Labor released the Employment Situation Report for September and while the U.S. added 114,000 jobs, unemployment among Iraq and Afghanistan veterans still remains higher than the national average at 9.7 percent. Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America said the following:

“Bringing down the number of jobless vets will not come through tax gimmicks or ineffectual government spending. What is needed is a commitment to real spending restraint, regulatory reform, and a business-friendly tax climate to drive authentic job growth. These goals can be reached only through real leadership from the president and Congress.”
