CVA Announces ‘Veterans and Military Town Halls’ with Fiorina, Carson, Rubio

National policymakers to headline events in Iowa, South Carolina

Arlington, Va.Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) has announced three new “Veterans and Military Town Hall” events as part of its “Defend and Reform” Policy Series.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) will headline the following events:

  • Tuesday, December 1: Carly Fiorina, Charleston, SC
  • Saturday, December 5: Ben Carson, Waterloo, IA
  • Thursday, December 10: Senator Marco Rubio, Des Moines, IA

These policy forums will highlight issues facing Iowa and South Carolina veterans and military families, and shape the national conversation on policies that matter most to veterans and military families across the country.

Each event will feature remarks from these leading policymakers, a conversation with CVA’s CEO Pete Hegseth, and a Q&A with attendees.

These just-announced town halls bring the number of such events CVA has conducted with policymakers and thought leaders to 10.

Hegseth issued the following statement on the announcement:

“Veterans and military families deserve the chance to look America’s policymakers and thought leaders in the eye and ask them what they would do to keep our country safe, keep our military strong, and ensure our veterans are treated with the highest standard of dignity and care.

“These town hall events give them the chance to do just that.

“Senator Rubio, Mr. Carson and Mrs. Fiorina—like the three other policymakers with whom we have held town halls —all understand that the VA system is broken and desperately needs reform. They recognize that our service members must be well-equipped on the battlefield and properly cared for when they return home.

“We look forward to engaging with these national policymakers on the issues facing the VA and the Department of Defense (DOD), and giving veterans and military families in Iowa and South Carolina the chance to learn what solutions these policymakers would put forward to address those problems.

“Now is the time to ask the key questions, and propose the big solutions, that will ensure America’s greatest days still lie ahead.”

The ‘Veterans and Military Town Hall’ series is a continuation of the Concerned Veterans for America ‘Defend and Reform’ Policy Series, an ongoing series of policy reform events that CVA has hosted in Washington, D.C., and across the country since 2012.

All attendees are asked to register for the town hall events. Click here to sign up for the desired town hall as registration opens.
